We love visiting Red Lodge. We have been visiting to ski as a family for a number of years and love the Beartooth Mountains and Yellowstone area in the summer.

Elk Mountain is the realization of a dream to have a place to stay each time we visit. The view from the house is unbeatable and we immediately fell in love.

It's amazing to wake up each morning to the sun rising from the base of the mountains and to sit in the evenings and enjoy the view of the mountains to the south. We love being so close to the ski area and to hiking areas in the summer. The wildlife in the area are incredible and we hope that you'll catch a glimpse of an elk, deer, or bear when you visit.

This was a great "Red Lodge home base" in that it's private and quiet but close to town with easy access to Beartooth Pass and YNP. You may not want to leave the house though as the views of the mountains can't be beat except by the view of the stars and Milky Way as you soak in the hot tub! The owners were super responsive via text, check in was super simple (no human contact necessary), the house had all I needed (just bring your own food) and did I mention the view?! I would stay here again and highly recommend Elk Mountain if you are staying in the RL area.

Our stay at Elk Mountain Hillside House was relaxing from the minute we walked in the door. The warm and cozy feel of the main level, along with the mountain views made for an inviting and calming atmosphere. There was ample space for everyone, the house was well equipped to construct a Thanksgiving meal, and the owners were very attentive to any need (of which there were none). The snow came down in droves which provided a wonderful skiing experience, so we are already looking at our calendars for our next visit hopefully again this winter.
